About Maillardville

Maillardville is a community on the south slope of the city of Coquitlam. The History of this area dates back to the early 1900's and Fraser Mills, a lumber mill on the north bank of the Fraser River. A town of originally 20 houses, a post office, hospitla, office block, barber shop and a pool hall. With rapid grouth at the mill and the recruitmnet of over 100 French Canadian mill workers from Quebec, Maillardville was born. Named for Fater Edmond Maillard, a young Oblate from France.

Things To Do

Maillardville is home to a number of commercial areas and the most famous – Coquitlam VIP Cinemas and IKEA. Do some local furniture shopping along United Boulevard, or do weekend grocery shopping at The Real Canadian Superstore.

If you play baseball you will be familiar with Mackin Park. This park offers a variety of sport and recreation for all resients. The park includes:

Maillardville Community Centre

The new Maillardville Community Centre (MCC), located at 1200 Cartier Ave and offers programs for Coquitlam residents of all ages. This 22,000 sq. ft. facility doubles the size of the previous community centre and features the City's first dedicated gymnasium, children’s program area with large covered outdoor space, multipurpose rooms, sprung-floor active studio and much more. Sports drop-ins, fitness classes, cooking classes, social activities, birthday parties and other educational programs are all available at MCC.

Fraser Mills Coquitllam's First Water Front Neighbourhood

Positioned on the bank of the Fraser River, Fraser Mills is the only waterfront residential neighbourhood in Coquitlam. This Master Planned Community integrates residential, commercial, office and recreational spaces forming a complete sustainable community. A total of 5,500 new homes across 20 buildings in a mix of up to 260 market rentals and 200 non-market rentals.
